Hexanaut.io

Use your mouse to move across the map. Leave your territory to draw a line and start capturing new land. When you return to your territory you'll close the circle and take all the enclosed tiles.

But when you are off your territory, you are at risk. If someone else moves into your tail, they will slice you and you'll have to start over.

Try to capture 20% of the map to become the Hexanaut. If you can keep your territory over 20% for two minutes after becoming the Hexanaut, you'll win the game!

Be careful: If you're eliminated while another player is the Hexanaut, you won't be able to rejoin the game.

Capture the Totems

There are five different totems that you can capture while playing Hexanaut.io. Players should try and capture these whenever they are able to safely do so. They all have their different advantages that will help you conquer the map and become the Hexanaut.

Spreading Totem

The spreading totem is the only totem that will directly get you hexagons in Hexanaut. Once you capture the spreading totem, it will send out lasers that will capture tiles one by one. This is especially helpful in the early game when it can be hard to capture land.

Speed Totem

The speed totem will increase your speed by 5%. While this may seem like a small amount, it really adds up once you get two or three of them. Try to prioritize these totems and the game will treat you well.

Teleporting Gate

These gates do exactly what you would think – they will allow you to transport from gate to gate. This is very helpful when you have a large area of land to cover. Instead of having to go all the way across your hexagonal domain, you can simply go to a teleport gate and save yourself a ton of time.

It can also be a great way to sneak up on your enemies. There will oftentimes be players trying to attack the edge of your territory while you are on the other side of the map. However, if you can teleport to them you might be able to catch them off guard and cut off their tails.

Slowing Totem

The slowing totem creates an area where every other player will be slowed down immensely if they enter that area. It is kind of like a spider web, where every player can barely move except for you. Take advantage of this speed advantage by trying to take down every other player in the slow zone if they dare enter.

On the other hand, avoid the enemy slowing totems if you can. There is no reason to try and challenge an opponent when they have such a huge advantage.

Spy Dish

The spy dish will show you where all of the territories of other players are. While this may not seem very helpful, it actually becomes one of the most important totems when you start to gain quite a bit of territory. This is because there are a lot of players that will be trying to take over your hexagons. However, the spy dish will show on the map which areas are under attack and need defending.
