*AWWW Thanks for the frontpage! *kisses*
I started this game a couple years ago with the intentions of making a mouse-avoider game with a story. Three months later I pooped out Particle X. I went through a lot of crap making this game and I'm not entirely happy with how it came out...buttt what are ya gonna do?
There are some cool things, though (SPOILERS):
- ACT 2 introduces a shield, which offers a couple puzzle levels and also my favorite....the dark levels. If you don't dig the game at first, at least check out some of those.
- The end of ACT 3 has a mini Gradius-esque level and boss
- The story. Most of the dialogue (in retrospect) is kinda dumb (and by god, the pseudo-scientific terms are cringe-worthy!), but there's a lot of subtext in there. The story is based around the idea of growing up and becoming your own person. CLICHE?! Yep.
ACT 1 represents childhood, where you're defenseless and must rely on the guidance of your mother (M.A.R.Y.).
ACT 2 is adolescence where you start to build up the skills to defend yourself in the world. It's also a time of rebelling against your parents. You're alone (in the dark).
ACT 3 represents adulthood. You're strong, and have both defensive and offensive skills.
Does any of that come across in the game? I don't know, but that's what it's based on.
(END OF POTENTIAL SPOILERS)
All of the levels start unlocked, so if you hate something just skip it (try ACT 2!). Also, there are 4 mini-games. I would recommend Xworm. It's a 'snake' replica but kinda different. Thanks for playing and SEE YA AROUND.
